Wynne Delacoma is a Chicago-based freelance arts writer and an adjunct faculty member of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University where she teaches graduate-level courses in arts reporting and criticism.

She began writing for the Chicago Sun-Times as a freelance critic and arts feature writer in 1982 and joined the staff in 1990. She served as the paper's classical music critic from 1991 to 2006. Before joining the Sun-Times, she was dance critic and back-up music critic at the Milwaukee Journal.

Ms. Delacoma received her bachelor’s degree in journalism at Marquette University in Milwaukee and a master’s degree in music history and literature from Northwestern University. She is a board member of the Music Critics Assn. of North America and a former board member of the Dance Critics Association in the U. S. She won a Lisagor Award from the Chicago chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists for her work at the Sun-Times.

Married to a crazed sports fan and former Chicago Tribune sports copy editor, Ms. Delacoma knows far more than she would like about Ohio State football and the Chicago Cubs.
